Why Orchid chose a different dry cleaning solvent.
Traditional dry cleaning has historically relied on perchloroethylene, commonly called PERC or PCE. Orchid instead uses GreenEarth®, a silicone-based D5 cleaning system. The difference is not just marketing: PCE is a regulated solvent, while Orchid's process is PERC-free.

Most standard Orchid dry cleaning orders are ready within about 2–3 business days. Items needing extensive stain treatment, delicate handling or specialty finishing can take longer.
How much does dry cleaning cost at Orchid Cleaners?
Orchid currently lists standard dry cleaning from $8.89 per item. Final pricing depends on the garment, construction, specialty handling and services required, so some pieces cost more.
Does Orchid offer free dry cleaning pickup and delivery?
Yes. Orchid offers complimentary pickup and delivery on its active Central Florida routes. New customers can submit a first-time inquiry, while existing customers can schedule through the Orchid customer portal.
What is GreenEarth dry cleaning?
GreenEarth is a silicone-based professional dry cleaning system that uses liquid silicone D5 instead of traditional PERC as the primary cleaning solvent. Orchid uses GreenEarth for its PERC-free dry cleaning process.
Can Orchid remove difficult stains?
Orchid evaluates stains individually and uses stain-specific treatment methods based on the fabric and type of stain. No cleaner can guarantee every stain will come out without damaging the garment, but professional pretreatment gives difficult stains the best reasonable chance.
Do you dry clean suits, silk, wool and cashmere?
Yes. Orchid cleans suits, blazers, dresses, dress shirts, silk, wool, linen, cashmere, outerwear, formalwear and many other garments. Designer pieces or especially delicate construction may be routed through Orchid's couture and specialty care service.
Do I need to come into a store?
No. You can use one of Orchid's four Central Florida storefronts or, if your address is on an active route, schedule pickup and delivery from a home or office location.
Can I add stain notes or special instructions to my order?
Yes. Orchid's customer portal allows customers to create an order with garment details, notes and photos when they want to call attention to a stain, delicate fabric or other special instruction.
