Professional Wet Cleaning for Delicate Garments.
Wet cleaning is professional garment care built around precisely controlled water, specialized detergents, fabric-specific programs and professional finishing. Orchid uses Miele Professional WetCare® when a garment is better suited to a controlled water-based process than traditional dry cleaning.
Wet cleaning combines commercial equipment, specialized chemistry, controlled mechanical action, careful drying and professional finishing.
Water-based cleaning without treating delicate clothing like laundry.
Professional wet cleaning is different from putting a delicate garment through a normal washer. The cleaner evaluates the item first, then controls water, detergent, drum movement, extraction, drying and finishing around the fabric and construction of the garment.
Inspect the garment
Orchid reviews the fabric, construction, care label, stains, trims and any customer instructions before deciding how the item should be cleaned.
Choose the right program
Professional wet-cleaning cycles tightly control mechanical action, water levels and detergent use rather than relying on a standard wash cycle.
Control drying
Drying is managed carefully because moisture, temperature and movement all affect the final shape and texture of sensitive fabrics.
Finish & inspect
Wet-cleaned garments are professionally finished and checked before return so the job does not end when the machine cycle does.
A strong option for many fabrics that need more control than home washing.
Professional wet cleaning can work especially well for many delicate and moisture-compatible garments. Orchid assesses each piece individually rather than assuming every item with the same fabric label should receive the same process.
The goal is not to force every garment through one process. It is to choose the process that makes the most sense for that specific piece.
They are three different garment-care processes.
Professional wet cleaning uses water, but that does not make it the same thing as ordinary laundry. And because Orchid also offers professional dry cleaning, the team can choose between water-based WetCare® and GreenEarth® solvent cleaning based on what the garment actually needs.
| Comparison | Professional Wet Cleaning | Home Washing | Professional Dry Cleaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cleaning medium | Water with specialized professional detergents and garment-care programs. | Water with household detergent and standard washer settings. | Uses a cleaning solvent rather than water as the primary cleaning medium. |
| Mechanical control | Commercial equipment controls drum action, water levels and program settings. | Household machines are designed primarily for conventional washable laundry. | Professional dry-cleaning equipment uses a different solvent-based process. |
| Garment selection | Used for garments determined to be good candidates for controlled water-based care. | Best suited to garments designed for normal laundering. | Used when garment construction, stains or fabric characteristics are better suited to dry cleaning. |
| Drying & finishing | Carefully controlled drying followed by professional finishing and inspection. | Typically tumble dried, air dried or ironed at home. | Professionally dried, pressed, finished and inspected. |
| Orchid's approach | Available through Orchid's Miele Professional WetCare® process. | Not the same service as professional wet cleaning. | Orchid uses GreenEarth® PERC-free professional dry cleaning. |
Why Orchid uses Miele Professional WetCare®.
The equipment is part of what separates professional wet cleaning from household laundry. Miele Professional systems are engineered for commercial textile care, with programmable washing, controlled extraction and honeycomb-drum technology designed to help garments move gently through the process.
Gentle movement matters when cleaning wool, silk, knitwear and structured garments in water.
Commercial controls allow the process to be adjusted for different textile-care requirements.
Miele's drum technology helps textiles move more gently across the drum surface.
Equipment works together with detergents, drying, finishing, inspection and trained handling.
Delicate garment care without another errand.

Quick answers about Miele WetCare®, delicate fabrics, "dry clean only" labels and how Orchid decides which process to use.
Is wet cleaning the same as dry cleaning?
No. Professional wet cleaning uses controlled water and specialized detergents, while dry cleaning uses a cleaning solvent rather than water as the primary cleaning medium. Orchid offers both.
